Hands Dances grew from a process of wanting to situate myself and my work in a world that is often defined by polarizing and divisive perspectives. This series of vignettes serves to acknowledge that a single idea can be interpreted in a multitude of ways, and that every thought, belief, and action, exists within a full spectrum of ideas. To merely contest the existence of an idea is pointless; the value is in figuring out how to operate within ideological tension. Emerged from, and serves as an extension of this dance video work: A Calm Place at Sea.

Premiered October 2015.
